VideoA Fair(y) Use TaleMay 21, '07 11:55 AM
for everyone
This is an interesting video made by a college professor explaining US Copyright Law, Fair Use and Intellectual Property. The twist is he made it using clips from Disney animated movies. :)

Synopsis:
Professor Eric Faden of Bucknell University provides this humorous, yet informative, review of copyright principles delivered through the words of the very folks we can thank for nearly endless copyright terms.

Blog EntryMultiply for myDSL subscribersJan 12, '06 7:55 PM
for everyone
Please feel free to pass this on to Multiply users who are on the PLDT myDSL service!

I know there are a lot of Multiply users out there who are using the PLDT myDSL service who have not been able to access Multiply.com for a few months already. If you are frustrated with the Tech Support from PLDT, take heart, because my friend Santino Manahan has figured out the problem, and I'm here to post the fix for myDSL subscribers using Windows XP:

1. Press "Start".

If you are using the standard Start menu:
2a. Move the mouse pointer to "Connect To", then move to "Show all connections" and click on it.

If you are using the Classic Start menu:
2b. Move the mouse pointer to "Settings", then move to "Network Connections" and click on it.

3. Look for the icon "myDSL" (the default name usually given) under the Broadband category. Right-click on the icon, then click on "Properties".

4. Click on the "Networking" tab on the window that pops up. Highlight the "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" item, making sure that there is a check mark next to it, then click on the "Properties" button below it.

5. Another window will pop up. Make sure that "Optain an IP address automatically" is selected. Then select "Use the following DNS server addresses:", then enter the following settings:

Preferred DNS server: 203.172.11.21
Alternate DNS server: 203.172.11.25

6. Click on "OK" to close the window, and all the other windows. Make sure that you do not change any other setting during this entire process.

7. Connect to myDSL as you would normally do, then go to Multiply.com

8. Look at all the backlog of stuff you've missed over the past couple of months. :)

For Mac users...

Type in these numbers in the box under "Systems Preferences: Network: TCP/IP:DNS/SERVERS"
203.172.11.21
203.172.11.25

A good site with a FREE test to check out how fast your Internet connection is. Tests both download and upload speeds. A must for broadband users to check if you are really getting the speed your ISP tells you. :)

An open-source email program, sister program to Firefox. I started using this early this year because my Outlook Express started screwing up. Now that I've started using it, I can't get myself to go back to using OE!

Handle multiple email accounts, a Junk Mail filter (pretty cool -- you have to "train it" a bit, but works effectively), smileys, RSS reader (for you people with blogs)...

Give it a try! :)

My current default (and favorite) Internet browser. I started playing around with Firefox almost 2 years ago, and it's been my default browser pretty much ever since I started using it!

It's faster than Internet Explorer, quick to download, and has more security features than IE6. Use it for the tabbed browsing alone, and you'll be hooked! Plus, so many Extensions -- add-ons that are free to download -- to put more cool functions into it! Check it out!
